It is certain you are strange with the Tizen System.

“Tizen is a free and open source mobile operating system. Tizen is based on the Linux operating system backed by the Linux Foundation and represented in the industry by Tizen Association. Tizen was born out of Samsung Linux Platform OS (SLP). The operating system incorporates a number of modules such as network management from the MeeGo project, a combination of the mobile operating systems Moblin, created by Intel, and Maemo, created by Nokia. Development is led by companies gathered around Tizen Association, currently Samsung and Intel. Some former MeeGo developers also joined the effort.” ——From Wiki.

Tizen 1.0 was  released a week ago(codenamed Larkspur), and at the Tizen Conference ,the prototype device that Samsung has been presenting to developers to test their applications. Its basically a extremely large screen device, (4.65 inch)1280 x 720p HD Super AMOLED) that¡¯s running on an 1.2 Ghz dual core A9 chip, with 1 GB of RAM. There¡¯s also an 8 MP camera. In some instances it includes a cellular radio, and some device are WIFI only. There¡¯s no word about what clock speed are they running at, or the the actual size of battery that¡¯s inside.

A Comprehensive View at Tizen on Samsung’s First Prototype Device

Even though it is a reference design, still it gives us an outline of what the Tizen UI will look like and the core functionality that will feature it. We¡¯ve already known that Tizen has an excellent HTML5 browser that bests everything currently available on the market. After playing with the phone, players now know that it is heavily inspired from what Samsung¡¯s been doing with TouchWiz. There¡¯s a pulldown notice spot much like Google android, there are WIFI, Bluetooth toggles etc the same as on Touch Wiz, multiple homescreens and the like. More to the point, there¡¯s support for tethering out of the box, there¡¯s also support for Google, Facebook and Twitter accounts along with to enable you to sync your contacts properly. There even seem to be push notifications for activity on Facebook etc, although I haven¡¯t seen it in action.  Next, there¡¯s support for services like Picassa, YouTube to aid in uploading content.

First Released in North America
According to the reports, the first Tizen phone may be released in North America first. Though it is in prototype stage, the configuration should be excellent. The Spint will be the first carrier to sell this Tizen phone. But the modle of the phone is unknown yet.

The phone industry, however, seems not to hold much hope on this Tizen system. Analysts say that  it is hard for this system to attract more developer and manufacturers, for the mobile systems have been dominated by Apple’s iOS and Google Android, and in the market, there are more than ten systems existing.
