The announcement of Kindle Fire makes the tablet battle fiercer.
NEW YORK: Competition appears to be intensifying in the tablet market, as Amazon’s Kindle Fire gets off to a strong start, although it still remains some way behind Apple’s pioneering iPad.

Amazon reported that it had sold “millions” of units of the Kindle Fire slate and Kindle e-book reader before Black Friday, and added that total unit sales on that day were four times greater than the previous year.

“[The] Kindle Fire was the bestselling product across all of Amazon.com,” said Dave Limp, vice president for the Amazon Kindle. “In addition, we’re seeing a lot of customers buying multiple Kindles – one for themselves and others as gifts.”

Amazon’s first step into the tablet world is proved to be a big success. The Fire has occupied the top place on Amazon’s best sellers list for weeks even prior to the device shipping. Now, at Best Buy, the $199 Fire sits higher than the 16GB iPad at the top selling tablets on the retailer’s website. Yep, it’s safe to say that Amazon is well on its way to officially winning the Android tablet wars.

Amazon Kindle Fire had a banner Black Friday weekend. The retail previously stated that it moved four times more Kindles this year than last (although hard numbers were not given). Consumers are seemingly snapping up the Fire.

A large amount of criticism surrounded the device from early reviewers. But considering the $199 price, they wrote off flaws and bugs. To keep the price down, compromises had to be made. However, reviewers and consumer alike are singing the good graces of Amazon’s content-first scheme. Just like the Fire’s main competitor, the Nook Tablet, the tablet is marketed without much talk of computing specs. Instead, it just talk about the device’s media consumption capabilities.

As for media consumption capabilities, we can not miss video function, Kindle Fire can play MP4 files only. If you want to play other videos such as MOD video from camcorders, you will need a MOD Converter to convert them to MP4. iOrgsoft MOD Converter is a professional MOD Converter , it will be helpful to you. It can convert all MOD video to common video formats such as MP4 for playback on Kindle Fire easily.
